Sherwin-Williams Color of The Year 2017 is....!

9/18/2016

Sherwin-Williams has announced their choice for color of the year for 2017, and it was a surprise...a very good surprise!  It is my pleasure to introduce you to......Poised Taupe!
Picture
Poised Taupe...A brownish grey, or greyish brown.  However you see it or call it, this color is a warm, inviting and rich neutral that is a compliment to many other colors.  Let's take a closer look at this beauty of a neutral.
Poised Taupe (SW 6039) is a very welcoming and comforting color.  It has an earthy look and feel to it.  You can say it has a rustic like charm to it.  The earthiness of this color reminds me of a campfire....sitting around it with friends and family sharing stories and creating new memories.

Look at how Poised Taupe creates a warm, friendly greeting in this entryway in the photo above.  The white trim on the baseboards and stairs brightens up the space and makes Posed Taupe stand out.  You can add more pops of color in your accessories or flowers as you see here.

Again, the white trim around the window, the baseboards and crown moulding make Poised Taupe stand front and center.  This bedroom evokes a sense of rest and relaxation.  A sanctuary for destressing so you can wake up and start your day fully recharged and ready to go!

I stated earlier that Poised Taupe is a compliment to many other colors.  Take a look at the above photo!  Bold and vibrant hues of blues and greens, accented with shades of gold and plum.....Absolutely gorgeous!  These colors are warm and rich.

I am so in love with this color palette!  Do you see how vibrant and bold the hues of gold, plum and deep blue-greens are pairing well with the Poised Taupe?  It is like pairing dinner with a fine wine.  Warm, bold and romantic!

This rich, bold, warm and romantic color palette is listed above.  This beautifully crafted selection of colors is part of Sherwin-Williams Noir collection.  Sherwin-Williams calls this palette "rich with vine-ripe fruits, Nordic blues, moody neutrals and golden yellows".  I couldn't agree with them more!

Perfect! We need to paint our beach condo and Poised Taupe it is! Tons of gulf and beach sun will hold the darker color and it will still complement the beige-ish/white color scheme already going on. Excellent re-do color, thanks!

Hi Pam,

Yes the Poised Taupe would go very well in your beach condo. It has a 'brownish-gray" tone to it so it will pair well with the beach and sun scenery. Let me know how it turns out for you! :-)
