Fall Decor Ideas!

9/1/2016

It's that time again!  Pumpkins, leaves and candles....those familiar and favorite things letting you know it's time to pull out your Fall decor and get your home ready for season.

There are a lot of creative ways to style your home this Autumn season, from adding wreaths on your doors to placing haystacks and pumpkins on your porch or patio.  Our creative juices start to flow and our inspiration awakens.  I'll show you some creative ways in which to spruce up your home for Fall.

To create the look below all you need are a few pilar candles (I would suggest using the flameless candles...you don't want to burn the leaves...or anything else for that matter!), some leaves from an arts and craft store, glue, string (burlap or twine, etc..) and lanterns and candle holders.  All you have to do is take a few leaves and glue them to the sides of the candle, then take your string and wrap it around the leaves to secure them to the candle and place them inside the lanterns or on candle holders and there you have it!  Easy right?!

Apothecary and hurricane jars (below) are versatile, and because of their varying sizes, you can arrange them in different ways and fill them with many different items to achieve whatever look you're going for.  Go to your local arts and crafts store to find items like these below to fill up your jars and add a little personality to your candles.  And don't forget to see what coupons your local store may have so you can save some money!

You can fill vases, jars, apothecaries with just about anything....from dried beans and corn to nuts, beads and colorful stones.  They all make a very fun and colorful decorative statements!

Autumn decor on your dining room table creates a very welcoming feeling for friends and family, and adding decor to your fireplace mantel creates a nice focal point.

Use cloth table runners with seasonal colors and sit decorative pumpkins and voltive candles on them for a festive dining table centerpiece.  You can also use rectangular wooden crates as a centerpiece for your table.  Add candles and seasonal decorative items inside the crate to create a unique and rustic focal point.

Fall decor is easy to add to any space, be it a small table or your entire house.  The look as you can see is one that is very warm and inviting, the colors are amazing, and your home will be the envy of all!

A girl after my own heart. I like your site and comments very much. Good luck with your major... After a lifetime of love of design and creating intimate spaces, I took some interior design, lighting, and even commercial design classes at a jr college in my area when I found out one of my favorite designers was teaching them. It was so much fun! I was 60 at the time.
I did my senior project on becoming a designer back in 1968... At the time the 2 designers I had to interview in my area were so boring, and there advice to me was not to get into it as I would end up at Sears selling couches... It was a dying field... How wrong they were.

Hi Anita!
Thank you very much! Wow, that's unfortunate that those two designers felt that way. You always have to follow your heart and do what you love in life. I think every field has its ups and downs, growth spurts and slow spells, but the important thing is not to give up on your passions. The interior design field has so many avenues to go down now. It's not just residential or commercial anymore. I can only imagine what the field was like as a designer back in the late 60's.

I have one more year of school left (thank goodness, lol) and then I can really focus more time on my site and all the other plans I have for the business. Thank you again for the kind words and I'm happy you enjoy my site! :-)

?m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that?s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
